Our Mission
Afgan Women and Children in Need is on a mission to rebuild five schools in Afganistan. We are starting with two because there is so much that each school needs. Kathy, our founder went there this past fall, her heart was broken to see these kids have no desks, no chairs, and hardly any books. There is no running water, inadequate bathrooms, and no electricity. The only thing stable is the very dusty grounds in wich these children have to sit on. Although girls have the opportunity to go to school, many can not because the lack of security absolutely frightens them and there families. Our first priority is to build a barrier wall for the safety of the children. From there, we can work on the water and electricity and the structure. Once the buildings are up they need all the basic school supplies from desks and chairs to paper and pencils. Our goal is to raise enough money to take care of the teachers salaries for at least five years. There is no budget in the government to take care of these things right now. |
